From Complexity to Simplicity: A Sustainable Packaging Solution for Magic Molecule 🌱

We met the team from Magic Molecule at CES Las Vegas around 2017. Their product — Hypochlorous Acid Solution — is designed to gently repair and soothe the skin, and we were honored to help upgrade their packaging.

🤔 The challenges they shared with us:

Their original printed box packaging was too costly — around $3 per unit.
It was complex and not eco-friendly.
High transportation costs due to the bulky structure.

After 8 months of open communication and collaboration, we developed a solution that checked all the boxes ✅:

A simple, elegant, and cost-effective flip-top molded pulp box
Requires only one mold set, reducing tooling expenses
Stackable design that lowered shipping costs significantly
Packaging cost was reduced from $3 to about $1.3 per unit, saving the customer substantial budget over time
A clean white box with a sky blue sleeve, perfectly reflecting their brand identity:

White evokes purity and healing, like calming a wound
Blue represents care, calm, and gentle treatment

The result? A packaging upgrade that is not only visually appealing and brand-consistent but also environmentally conscious 🌍.
We ended up creating three versions of the design, and the collaboration was smooth, efficient, and inspiring.
